The Design Canvas is an Interior Design company that provides both in-person services to Hampton Roads and e-design services throughout the US.

At The Design Canvas, we know that everyone operates on a different budget, has different functional needs, and a different vision. Our passion is to marry each of those to make your dream and vision a reality. We provide in-person services to the Hampton Roads Seven Cities: Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Hampton and Newport News. For those not available for in-person services, we also offer e-design for most of our packages.

Our two most popular interior design packages… What’s the difference?

RapidRevive- $1,295/Space

RapidRevive. This service starts with a 1-hour visit to see how we can assist with styling our home. From there, we curate a list of online selections from what was discussed to help complete your space and finish off with in-person shopping, if wanted. With time that is left, we assist with styling and mark off where items such as artwork and window treatments need to be hung. This service is set to 7 hours. Too much fun shopping and need more time? We have extra design hours that can be purchased!

Full Design- $2k+/Space

Full Design. This is a “Done-For-You” service that starts with a 1-hour consultation. We provide a personalized quote reflecting the uniqueness of your project. Once accepted, we meet for a 30-minute online design call taking a deeper dive into your wants and needs. From there we begin the design, making the selections that will bring your space to life! This includes not only your personalized design selections, but a 2D idea board, ordering of all items, and a full-service styling day.

FAQs

What does a full design service normally cost?

While interior designers charge differently, we aim to keep things simple (think of Southwest) to keep our prices lower, while still providing great service. Our prices for a full design typically start at $2k, depending on the needs of the project. If this seems daunting to you, check out our consultation options and our RapidRevive Package!

If painting or electrical is needed for the project, do you take care of that?

While we do not hire the contractors directly to do the work needed to complete the design (hello, insurance) we have a list of licensed and insured contractors that we have worked well with in the past and are used to our design process. We assist with communicating with the contractors while payment is secured through you, the client.

What is a typical timeline for interior design?

The full-service process will take 1-2 months per space. This is heavily dependent on shipping/manufacturing timelines and if there are contracting needs outside of the design.

What if I use the 7 hours of RapidRevive and we run out of time for design assistance?

While we strive to fit the RapidRevive package in the full 7 hours of the allotted time, there are times when sourcing takes more time (usually do to a bigger project). Most of the time we will take note of the project size and let you know ahead of time that this will likely take more time and give you the option of sourcing some items alone to allow for design assistance time or we recommend purchasing additional hours, which can be done.

What if I just need help with something small and tend to DIY everything?

We recommend you purchase a consultation. Sometimes, you don’t need a full design. You might just need someone to help you with the direction you want to go in. Either way, we’re here to help you!

Do I need all new pieces? Or can we incorporate what I have into the design?

We LOVE working with things that you have and maybe some that have a more sentimental value to you. We find new ways to bring your current pieces to life inside your home!
